SubFly

Questions, answered

What does SubFly do?

It translates subtitle files - SRT, ASS, SSA and VTT - with Google Gemini, and rebuilds them with the original timestamps and line-level styling, so the translated file drops straight back into your video.

Will my timings or styling break?

No. Only the dialogue text is sent to the model. Every cue keeps its exact start and end time, each batch must come back with the same number of lines or it's retried, and ASS line-level tags like {\an8} or {\pos} are put back on the translated line.

Is Hinglish supported properly?

Yes - there's a built-in fansub rulebook for Hinglish: Roman script only, everyday bolchaal vocabulary, and lore terms like Jutsu, Qi or Sect left untranslated. Add character names to your word list to keep them consistent.

Do I need my own Gemini API key?

Not to start. Your first translation on the free trial runs on our keys; after that the free plan uses your own key, so Google bills that usage to you. Paid plans include translation on our keys, so you don't need a key at all.

How much can I translate for free?

Every new account gets a one-time trial of 500 lines - one or two subtitle files - in files of up to 350 lines, one file a day. Free exports carry a short credit line. Paid plans lift the limits, remove the credit and add word lists, character genders and line editing.

Which email addresses can sign up?

Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo and Proton Mail. Limiting sign-ups to major providers keeps out the disposable addresses used to farm free trials.

What happens if I reach my monthly line limit?

New translations pause until the next month starts, or until you upgrade. The free trial's lines don't reset. Nothing you've already translated is affected, and your files stay in your projects.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from Billing; you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to the free plan. See the refund & cancellation policy for refunds.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cards worldwide, and UPI, cards and netbanking in India - depending on the payment options shown at checkout.

Is my API key safe?

Keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they're stored and are never shown again or sent back to your browser - only a masked preview like AIza...9xK1.

Do you use my subtitles to train AI?

No. Your files are used only to produce your translations, and you can delete them at any time.

What if a translation fails halfway?

Every finished batch is saved as it completes. Retry the job and it picks up from the last completed batch - you never pay twice for lines that were already translated.
